Mountain Climbing Park Bannholzmauer
Bannholzmauer in Windischgarsten is an impressive cliff located in the north and features four via ferratas.
There are four training via ferratas at Bannholzmauer for any skill level: A/B (easy to moderately difficult), B/C (moderately difficult to difficult), C/D (difficult to very difficult) and D/E (extremely difficult).
The mountain climbing park is open to the public and perfectly suited for training sessions of alpine clubs, mountain rescue and climbers. To climb one of the via ferratas you need the entire safety equipment including helmet, climbing harness and via ferrata set. For Via Ferrata E it is advised to use climbing gloves and shoes.
The peak of Bannholzmauer allows a stunning view to Veichltal Valley, Rading and the green forests of the southern Sengsengebirge Mountains. The summit is accessible via hiking trail 8 (no via ferrata, only steps and rope handrail). Training via ferrata can be reached within five minutes from the summit.
Via ferrata climbing equipment can be rented at the hut at the archery park during the opening hours.
